Justin Long is back again, this time for Qualcomm. Tom Warren, reporting for The Verge:

Apple’s former “I’m a Mac” actor Justin Long defected to Intel a few years ago, and now he’s looking to switch to a Qualcomm-powered Windows PC.

Which is worse? Being the butt of a joke that is only effective because lots of folks remember your ads from over a decade ago or being spared because no one remembers your ads from just three years ago? Back when Intel featured Long in their ads, I observed that the campaign ultimately showed how commoditized they were. I can’t think of a better illustration of that point than an actual competitor of Intel also using Long to promote PCs, and oh by the way, no one cares because most people don’t even remember Intel even ran those ads.
